Outline of Annual Research Achievements

An effective start has been made to the project, with this stage principally being concerned with obtaining equipment for the field work in 2021, and developing and testing protocols to be used in the field. A scouting trip in March was used to establish field sites and transects within sites, and negotiate with various stakeholders about access to remote islands, logistics of accommodation and car hire, and test field methods. All of these tasks were completed effectively in preparation for the beginning of field work proper from May 2021.

Current Status of Research Progress
Current Status of Research Progress

2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.

Reason

Marta has proven to be very well organised and has a good idea of the requirements of the field work. We have thus made the required progress in setting things up for the field season

Strategy for Future Research Activity

The main field work for this study will be conducted during 2021. We now have the protocols established and logistics organised to undertake this work.
