Outline of Annual Research Achievements

高圧下におけるX線非弾性散乱実験および粉末X線回折実験によって,六方最密充填構造をもつ金属レニウムの縦波速度,横波速度と密度の同時測定を室温において行った.金属レニウムについて,230 GPaまでの圧力条件で,X線非弾性散乱法によって縦波,横波を決定し,密度については,粉末X線回折法を用いて決定することができた.得られた結果を用いて室温における一次圧力スケールの構築を試みた.今回の測定では,理想的な金属レニウム結晶において理論的に期待されるよりも非常に強い非弾性散乱の横波モードが測定された.この強い横波モードの原因を解明するために,常圧において変形した金属レニウム結晶のX線非弾性散乱実験をおこなうとともに,第一原理計算を行い,結晶の変形組織が非弾性散乱ピークに与える影響を明らかにし,今回の大きな横波のモードの測定結果と矛盾しない計算結果を得ることができた.この結果にもとづいて,金属レニウムによる絶対圧力スケールを決定した.そして,その結果を論文として取りまとめ,国際誌(Science Advances)に投稿し,受理・出版された.さらに,鉄-ニッケル-ケイ素合金の音速測定を高温高圧下において行っている.
