Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, a turbulent combustion model and a flame-wall interaction heat transfer model was constructed as physical and mathematical models for Large Eddy Simulation (LES) of turbulent combustion, which is important for the design and development of highly efficient automobile engines and gas turbine combustors. For these models, AI technologies such as deep learning based on large-scale direct numerical simulations and cutting-edge laser measurement data were introduced. For the turbulent combustion model, an AI-assisted model that predicts the local Kolmogorov scale, etc. was introduced into the FDSGS combustion model that has been proposed by the principal investigator. For the flame-wall interaction heat transfer model, an AI-assisted model was developed that can predict the wall heat flux in the flame-wall interaction. Furthermore, turbulent combustion LES implemented with an AI model was also realized.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
カーボンニュートラル実現には水素やアンモニア等の代替燃料やバイオ燃料の導入が必要であるが,それらの導入はエネルギーコストの増大を引き起こすと考えられる.エネルギーコストの低減には各種燃焼器の更なる高効率化が必要不可欠である.本研究では,高効率な自動車用エンジンやガスタービン燃焼器の設計・開発に必要不可欠な高精度な乱流燃焼モデルと火炎・壁面干渉熱伝達モデルの構築に焦点をあてた.本研究により開発されたAI支援型高精度モデルは今後高効率・低環境負荷燃焼器の開発に応用され,カーボンニュートラル実現に貢献することが期待される.
