Outline of Annual Research Achievements

北極の５地点で、他グループにより他の手法で測定されてきたBCの値をCOSMOSの値と比較し、COSMOS以外の測定器の値をBCに変換するための係数とその変動を推定した。この結果を論文として国際誌に発表した。
降水中の酸化鉄（FeOx）レーザー誘起白熱法で測定するのであるが、BCとの分離、水からの抽出効率、長期保存した場合の粒径分布の安定性といった点について、実験的・理論的に調べた。この結果を論文としてまとめた。
ニーオルスンにおいける降水の採集を継続した。降水中のBC濃度の測定は、BCを水中から大気中に浮遊させた後にSP2で検出するという独自に開発した方法を用いた。この測定と降水量の気象観測から、沈着フラックスを推定し、BCの降水除去の動態を明らかにした。冬季は人為起源BC、夏季は森林火災起源BCに注目した解析を行った。この結果を論文として国際誌に発表した。
ニーオルスンにおいて採集した降雪・降水試料中の硫酸塩濃度をイオンクロマトグラフィー法により測定した。また気象データを組みあわせてBCと同様に硫酸塩の沈着フラックスを推定した。
これまで開発してきた全球エアロゾルモデルを用いて北極大気中および降水中のBCの観測によってモデルを評価・検証した。また、北極におけるBCの発生源寄与（東アジア・ロシアの人為発生源、シベリアのバイオマス燃焼など）の季節変動を調べた。この結果を論文としてまとめ、国際誌に投稿した。

Reason

交付申請書に記載した研究計画はほぼ全て実施できた。主要な項目は、北極の５地点でのＣＯＳＭＯＳによるBCの連続観測と、他グループにより他の手法で測定されてきたBC測定との比較である。この結果を論文として国際誌に発表した。
ニーオルスンでの降水の定期的な採集とBC, FeOx, イオン成分の分析も予定通り進んでいる。これらの観測は、北極における主要な光吸収性エアロゾルであるブラックカーボン（BC）・酸化鉄（FeOx）と非海塩性硫酸塩エアロゾルの放射強制力を高精度で推定するために必要な観測である。BCの結果については論文として国際誌に発表した。
また、これまで開発してきた全球エアロゾルモデルを用いて北極大気中および降水中のBCの観測との比較を行うことができた。この結果は論文として国際誌に投稿した。この論文により、本研究は大きく進展した。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

大気中のBC観測に用いているCOSMOSの改良も行う。故障頻度が多いこれまでのヒーターに代わり、シーズヒーターを用いた新たな加熱インレットを製作し、観測現場での試験を行いつつある。使用する観測点を増やし、また観測を継続することで、加熱インレットの長期安定性を確認する。これは測定器をさらに国際共同研究に使用するために必要である。
