北極におけるエアロゾルの動態と気候影響

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

COSMOSによるBC質量濃度MBCの測定ではサンプル空気を300℃に加熱し、BC以外のエアロゾルを除去することが重要である。これまで、故障が頻発したヒーターに代わりシーズヒーターを用いた新たなCOSMOS用の加熱インレットを製作し、北極のバロー（アラスカ）、ニーオルスン（ノルウェー）、アラート（カナダ）、パラス（フィンランド）での運用を始めた。またその他のCOSMOSの機能を改良し、より安定した観測が行えるようにした。
この北極の4地点で、他グループによりAethalometerで長期間測定されてきたBCの光吸収係数babsの値をCOSMOSのMBCと比較し、babsをMBCに変換するための係数である光吸収断面積MACを推定した。MACの平均値と変動幅を初めて求めることが出来た。これを用いることで、Aethalometerによる過去のbabsのデータからMBCを約30%の精度で再現することが可能になった。
降水中の酸化鉄（FeOx）レーザー誘起白熱法で測定するのであるが、BCとの分離、水からの抽出効率、長期保存した場合の粒径分布の安定性といった点について、実験的・理論的に調べた。この結果を論文として出版した。
ニーオルスンにおいける降水の採集を継続した。降水中のBC濃度の測定は、BCを水中から大気中に浮遊させた後にSP2で検出するという独自に開発した方法を用いた。これまで開発してきた全球エアロゾルモデルを用いて北極大気中および降水中のBCの観測によってモデルを評価・検証した。また、北極におけるBCの発生源寄与（東アジア・ロシアの人為発生源、シベリアのバイオマス燃焼など）の季節変動を調べた。この結果を論文としてまとめ、国際誌に出版した。

Reason

交付申請書に記載した研究計画はほぼ全て実施できた。主要な項目は、北極の５地点でのＣＯＳＭＯＳによるBCの連続観測と、他グループにより他の手法で測定されてきたBC測定との比較である。特に4地点で用いられているAethalometerとCOSMOSとの詳細な比較を初めて行うことが出来た。
ニーオルスンでの降水の定期的な採集とBC, FeOx, イオン成分の分析も予定通り進んでいる。これらの観測は、北極における主要な光吸収性エアロゾルであるブラックカーボン（BC）・酸化鉄（FeOx）と非海塩性硫酸塩エアロゾルの放射強制力を高精度で推定するために必要な観測である。降水中の酸化鉄（FeOx）の測定法を確立し、その結果を論文として出版した。
また、これまで開発してきた全球エアロゾルモデルを用いて北極大気中および降水中のBCの観測との比較を行うことができた。この結果は論文として国際誌に投稿した。この論文により、本研究は大きく進展した。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

AethalometerのMACの時間、空間的変動の特定を定量化して論文として出版する。またこれを用いて、Aethalometerによる過去のbabsのデータからMBCを約30%の精度で再現する。積雪、降水中のFeOxの濃度の時間および空間的な変動を詳細に解析する。またFeOxの沈着フラックスを推定し、BCの沈着フラックスとの相関を調べる。
