北極におけるエアロゾルの動態と気候影響

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

COSMOSによるBC濃度（MBC）測定精度の長期安定性の評価を行った。2018年1月から2023年10月の約6年間カナダのアラートで観測に使用したCOSMOSを日本に戻し、COSMOSの標準器と比較し、その長期安定性を評価した。その結果6年間使用後のCOSMOSのMBCは約4%の範囲で安定していたことが判明した。またパラスでは2019-2020年の1年間、COSMOSとSP2によるMBCの同時観測データを行ったので、このデータを解析した。この期間、COSMOSとSP2は極めて良く相関し、その絶対値も約10%で一致した。このように北極の2か所でCOSMOSによるMBCの測定が長期的に安定していたことが初めて実証された。
バロー（アラスカ）、ニーオルスン（ノルウェー）、アラート（カナダ）、パラス（フィンランド）でAethalometer による光吸収係数babsとCOSMOSによるBC濃度の相関から光吸収断面積MAC を高精度で導出した。時間・空間平均すると、波長590 nm でのMACは11.8±1.3 m2 g-1であることがわかった。パラスでは2021-2022年の1年間における音響光学法によるbabsとCOSMOSによるBC濃度の相関から光吸収断面積MAC を高精度で導出した。このMACはAethalometer のMACの年平均値に近いことが判明した。
得られたMACを用いれば、各場所でCOSMOSの観測がない期間でもbabsからMBCを15-20%の精度で推定することが可能となる。これはMBCの長期的な変動を調べるための重要な結果である。一方、中緯度でのMACの値は先行研究で報告されている。北極および中緯度におけるMACも比較した。MACの緯度変化は大きくないことが初めて示された。
これらの結果を論文としてまとめ、国際誌に出版した。
