Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Because of the COVID pandemic, I was unable to conduct any field research, or visit to any archives during this year. As a result, my research was limited to obtaining books and articles that could advance my project, and also conducting some discussions with scholars via Zoom. I collected a large amount of research articles on the effects of radiation on living creatures, and the transportation of radionuclides through the ecosystem. I began to assemble these into a database for use in processing my research outcomes once my field research could resume. I also conducted many Zoom dialogues with scholars of nuclear technology and radiological sites in the United States and elsewhere. This helped me to establish a larger research network that could be useful in my project, and alerted me to resources I could obtain online. I obtained annual passes for research databases to further this effort.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
4: Progress in research has been delayed.
Reason
Because of my inability to visit to any archives, or to conduct any field research, my efforts did not advance nearly as much as I intended.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
As travel is possible again, and as archives begin to open to public access again, I intend to make several research trips in the next year to gather documents, and to meet with important scholars. I will also begin to collect data from site visits, including oral history interviews.
