Outline of Final Research Achievements

We identified the mechanism on how people perceive their own and the partners' personality and how (dis)similarities of those personality characteristics contribute to decision-makings on mate selection. This mechanism was incorporated into our evolutionary simulation models, where agents and products evolve in parallel, agents' perceived personality and survivability are modified the products that they own, and they reproduce based on the (dis)similarities of the personality. Our analysis using the simulation models revealed the adaptiveness of products that appear to maladaptive.

人間が文化的にコストをかけて見かけ上のパーソナリティ特性を操作することに関する、適応的な意義を定量的に明らかにした。このような定量的な評価を可能とするモデルの構築により、エージェント間の相互作用が社会的な合理性にどのように影響を与えるか、またその対策としてどのようなものがあり得るかを、計算機上で事前検討することが可能なプラットフォームとして提示した。
