Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The purpose of the project is threefold: (a) to assess the current status of peace education in Japan and Korea, (b) to develop and implement curricula and programs that may be common to both Japanese and Korean contexts or universities on peace education, and (c) to conduct program evaluation. This past year we were able to conduct about 14 in-depth interviews with those individuals who run peace education programs in Japan and Korea over Zoom. In addition, we were able to collect two sets of data from college students in Japan, and teachers in secondary schools in Japan. Based on these two sources of empirical data, and literature reviews, several protocols of possible peace education are being developed. We will be doing some more survey data collection in Korea in June 2022.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
Though the project is a bit delayed due to travel restrictions, we are moving in desired directions of compiling empirical data and qualitative data to inform program development and program evaluation methods.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Several schools and university professors will be contacted for program implementation in Korea and Japan in FY2022.
