Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Incorporating the STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) , the project promoted scratch programming learning, in which elementary and junior high school students learn by manipulating sprites (cats, etc.) on the screen and by operating Codey Rocky ( a cat-shaped robot). In this study, STEAM learning programs were developed for drawing geometric figures, creating “My World” to express the world in the sea and forest, creating musical compositions, moving robots, etc., and were put into practice and teacher training was promoted at elementary and junior high schools in Mie Prefecture. Among these programs, programming using Codey Rocky, which allows elementary and junior high school students to learn about STEAM through programming by moving concrete objects on iPads, was especially beneficial for teachers, who could immediately put it into practice in their classes.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
