Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In its 2nd year of implementation, the project has produced: a) key progress in the design and experimental demonstration of the SMP inverter implementation; b) important steps forward in the development of a parametric machine-inverter co-design framework; c) fundamental design optimization and first prototypal steps of the innovative machine design. The results are all fully aligned with the original research proposal both in quality and quantity. First informal presentation of results to some industrial partners has been made and preliminary discussions about the exploitation of the results generated hitherto for follow-on funding application have been started among the project members.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
The results are aligned with the stated objectives and timelines.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
We aim soon to deliver experimental validation of the machine and then prepare a journal paper summarizing the main findings. At the same time, work on parametric inverter-,machine co-design will progress further and deliver the envisaged innovative theoretical design framework. We plan to adopt innovative work methodologies, such as hardware-in-the-loop experimental-simulation based validation, advanced control platforms and PWM methodologies.
