Outline of Final Research Achievements |
A strong correlation was observed between the gait phase and the body response before and after the onset of vestibular electrical stimulation. The responses of the lower and upper limbs were understandable as a double inverted pendulum control system. However, the curvature obtained from the three roll angles of the head, chest, and hips was larger than that obtained from the actual walking trajectory, indicating that the camber angle, which is the body tilt, is not the only factor in curvature walking. The amplitude modulation of the fixed vertical motion at the starting point of the pedestrian observation did not reproduce the "slipping" as a result of objective observation of walking behavior. On the other hand, the avoidance distance to the obstacle increased, and the trajectory became bigrouped. This was interpreted as a result of a reduction in the reliability of the distance to the object to be avoided.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
