Outline of Annual Research Achievements

カイアシ類やミジンコ類に匹敵するような活発な遊泳行動をワムシでも発現させ、仔魚用餌料としての価値を向上させることが本研究の目的である。ワムシは、付着行動から遊泳行動に切り替えて悪環境を回避し、悪環境への曝露によって、遊泳速度が増大する。そこで、微量元素として生物の生存に必須であるが、種苗生産場では過剰投与になりがちな鉄(FeSO4)と亜鉛(ZnCl2)の影響を昨年度まで検討し、温帯性と熱帯性種のワムシ共に、これらの濃度上昇に伴って遊泳速度が速くなった。同様の現象が非解離アンモニア濃度の上昇によっても起こることを見出した。今年度は、ワムシの増殖に影響を与える水中溶存酸素の影響を求めたところ、低酸素条件への曝露は温帯性ワムシの増殖を阻害したが、熱帯性ワムシの増殖には影響を与えなかった。このとき遊泳速度は温帯性ワムシでは低下し、熱帯性ワムシでは遊泳速度が上昇した。低酸素下では両ワムシ種ともに解糖系によるATP産生が活発に起こり、熱帯性ワムシでは活性酸素の上昇はみられなかったが、温帯性ワムシでは活性酸素レベルの上昇が起こった。熱帯性ワムシは産出したATPを遊泳速度の増大と生殖活動の恒常性に利用した可能性がある。
またエネルギー供与体として原生動物の繊毛運動を活性化することが知られているアルギニンリン酸がワムシの遊泳を活発にすることを昨年度までに明らかにしている。そこで、アルギニンリン酸によるADPのリン酸化で生じるATPと、モータータンパク質(ダイニン)の水中への添加の影響を求めたところ、水質が良好な時にはワムシの遊泳速度は増加しなかったが、非解離アンモニアの曝露下でワムシの遊泳速度が1.16倍速くなることを見出した。
