Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In 2020, I continued my research in magnetostrictive materials, especially focusing on the design of composite structures and improvement in magnetostrictive properties. A series of iron-cobalt composites were prepared in this study, including 1-3 and 2-2 models.In more detail, a 2-2 model iron-cobalt composite that bonds positive and negative magnetostrictive materials together, significantly improve the sensitivity and magnitude for the magnetic induction variation in response to the exterior bending or bias magnetization.On the other hand, a lightweight high-temperature iron-cobalt composite through embedding the iron-cobalt fiber into an aluminum matrix, exhibits a potential application in the high-temperature application.Besides, the evaluation of iron-cobalt magnetostrictive composite was examined both experimentally and theoretically. The finite element analysis was employed to analyze the distributions of the interior stress and magnetic induction, within both 2-2 and 1-3 composites. Moreover, on the basis of the theoretical model, a theoretical mechanism of mechano-magneto-electric conversion is obtained. This research provides insights into the design of efficient mechano-magneto-electric transductors or sensors, even energy harvesters. In 2020, my study has been published by an international journal (PPS-RRL). And another work is in major revision. On the other hand, I also give an oral presentation at an international conference.
