Outline of Annual Research Achievements

I prepared three molecular compounds with the composition [DyxIIIY1-xIII(phen)2(μ-OH)2(H2O)2].[AuI(SCN)2]2.phen (x = 0 (DyAu), 0.1 (Dy0.1Y0.9Au), 0.02 (Dy0.02Y0.98Au); phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) containing lanthanide(III) ions (Ln3+) and bis(thiocyanato)gold(I) ions and solvents. The presence of two Au(I) atoms at a close distance make these assemblies attractive, which contain excimer-based emission properties and Au-Au vibrational features in the low-frequency (LF) region. The themometric ability utilizing Stokes and anti-Stokes Raman shift was charecterized. We also showed that this can be applied to detect the phase-transition of an unknown material. We also designed emission thermometer utilizing the luminescence of Dy(III) and Au(I) ions and compared it with Raman thermometer.
