重力マイクロレンズ法による惑星存在頻度の主星質量依存性及び惑星質量関数の解明

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本年度は新しい近赤外線望遠鏡によるマイクロレンズ探査の惑星発見数とマイクロレンズイベント検出数の見積もりを行い、観測戦略の最適化に貢献した。PRIME(PRime-focus Infrared Microlensing Experiment)望遠鏡は世界で初めて近赤外線でマイクロレンズ系外惑星探査を行う。近赤外線では、従来の可視光では不可能だった星間減光が強い銀河系中心近くの星数密度の高い領域を観測可能である。PRIMEによるマイクロレンズ探査の主要目的は、銀河系中心付近のイベントレートを測定し、将来のRoman宇宙望遠鏡の観測戦略最適化への貢献と、世界で初めての銀河系中心付近での惑星存在頻度分布の測定である。銀河系中心方向に最適化された銀河系モデルを使用してPRIMEのマイクロレンズ観測をシミュレーションを行い、惑星発見数と発見できる惑星の質量範囲を異なる観測戦略で見積もった。その結果、PRIMEは1年間で42-52個の惑星(惑星質量が1地球質量以下が1-2個、1-100地球質量では22-25個、100-10000地球質量では19-25個)を発見できることが分かった。このシミュレーションの結果はPRIME望遠鏡の最初の観測戦略の選定に役立ち、また実際の観測結果と比較することで使用した銀河系モデルや仮定した惑星存在頻度分布等に制限を与えられると期待できる。この解析経過及び結果を5月にラスベガスで行われた国際会議Exoplanet IVと、9月にパリで行われた25th Microlensing Conferenceで報告した。また2022年11月に投稿論文をAstronomical Journalへ投稿した。
