Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We used 3D CAD to create a digital archive of the shape and structure of six of the 17 sound sculptures created by Francois Baschet for the Japan World Exposition Osaka 1970, as well as all of the remaining components. For the previously restored Katsuhara Phone, diagrams and videos of their assembly and handling were created to make it possible to use them with as little burden as possible on the works. In addition, a practical and multifaceted study was conducted on how to preserve these works and components with an emphasis on their use in performances, and problems specific to Baschet's acoustic sculptures were clarified.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
