Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this study soviet psychiatry and madness theme in Soviet unofficial literature and films were analyzed, and following points were illustrated. (1)Socialist Realism Literature influenced on soviet psychiatry; (2)Socialist Realism ideology became apparent in Sinyavsky trial; (3)Insane characters in Tarkovsky's films have medieval images and demonic power. Madness in Soviet unofficial culture counteract official ideology of Soviet regime.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

研究期間内には研究資料の購入と国外における調査を行なった。それによりソヴィエトの非公式文学や映画と社会の関わりについて、改めて検証を行うことができた。研究成果は狂気の主題と社会的イデオロギーの関係を問うものだが、芸術と近代社会の関係を考察する本研究はソヴィエトという特殊な体制を理解するために役立つものではなく、広く近代芸術一般について考える際にも応用できるものである。
