Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
I have contacted potential interviewees and drawn up a list of questions that can be asked in order to elicit meaningful responses and contents for audio and video materials. I have set-up the website and podcast for disseminating the video and audio materials. I have also trialled the processes of editing and uploading these materials. I have made contact with colleagues at the university about the potential of using these materials in their classes in the future and participating in the review and improvement process. In addition, I have made several trial audio and video materials and practiced the use of editing software to produce useable audio content. This has allowed me to feel confident that, even on a compressed research of just two years timetable, the aims of the project can be met.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
4: Progress in research has been delayed.
Reason
Due to the coronavirus and the subsequent state of emergency in Fukuoka, I have not been able to conduct the in-room and on-camera interviews I had planned. This complication is continuing into this year as a new variant of the virus is causing a surge in cases both locally and nationally. I have had to significantly re-work my plans to incorporate the use of online data collection and interviews.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
In the coming months, I will be conducting interviews both over ZOOM and in-person (where possible) to build the materials necessary to produce course content. This will then be trialed in the Fall semester in my university courses. All this material will be made available on the research website.
|
Causes of Carryover |
The next year requires the interviewing of prospective project candidates and they will be paid honoraria for their time and effort. These participants may be interviewed later in the year if the materials need to be refined. The website will be maintained and improved. Some travel may be required if the pandemic guidelines are revised. There are other connected costs with maintaining and improving previously purchased materials
|
Remarks |
This is the first version of the website to be used to disseminate the materials.
