Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
We were able to initiate some small-scale projects during the 2nd year. For doing so research meetings and opportunities for collaborators to present and reflect were initiated to get support and feedback. Especially the workshop with Anne Burns in August 2021 was an important event to present, discuss and reflect on the projects. At the same time the workshop gave valuable advice and inspired those who hadn't yet started their interventions. Beside the workshop major events where the Forums at PanSIG and at JALT 2021 to disseminate the results of the research project. Small-scale projects were on curriculum alignment, orthographical awareness, e-language portfolio, learner autonomy, CLIL and mediation, textbook alignment and feedback on academic writing.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
The project proceeded overall as planned. The CARM model that was developed in the first year was critically reviewed and had some slight modifications. The small-scale projects had their first cycle of intervention. Some will do a second cycle of intervention and some will reflect on their data and results.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
In the third year of the project, a second cycle of the action research will be initiated and then the overall project will be evaluated. We will hold workshops to support teachers researchers. The research results (e.g. modifications of the here suggested CARM model, mediate teacher researchers, conducting small scale research projects) will be disseminated at national and international conferences (e.g. CercleS, PanSIG 2022, JALT 2022) and a detailed publication on the research results will be prepared. At the same time, the research results will be disseminated on the homepage of JALT CEFR Language Portfolio SIG.
|
Causes of Carryover |
Because of Covid19 situation during the academic year 2021-2022 conferences were attended online. The money will be used in the next fiscal year to hold workshops (e.g. with Neus Figueras and otherse) supporting small scale research projects, buy books (action research, CEFR, CLIL, applied linguistics, portfolio, teaching foreign languages etc.) and disseminate research results (e.g. modifications of the here suggested CARM model, support for teacher researchers, small scale research projects using action research) will be disseminated at national and international conferences (e.g. CercleS, PanSIG 2022, JALT 2022). At the same time, the research results will be disseminated on the homepage of JALT CEFR and Language Portfolio SIG.
