Outline of Final Research Achievements |
By absorbing the results of research on ancient history, medieval history, archaeology, ancient literature, and historical geography, I reexamined the historical aspects of Naniwa and the Osaka Bay area in ancient and medieval times from a comprehensive perspective. As a result, we came to the conclusion that the ancient Naniwa-port existed in Watanabe-port (near Tenjinbashi) in the 5th and 6th centuries, but moved to the vicinity of Mitsutera-machi in the 7th century. I also argued that the Naniwa Miyake, which was built in the 6th century, was remodeled into Koshiro Imperial Villa in the middle of the 7th century, was located on the lowlands along the nakatsu-river. Naniwa Ogori was located on the highlands of the Uemachi plateau, and it is believed that guesthouses such as the Kudara-kan also existed in the surrounding area.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
