Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The project is focussed on the study of the sharing of subjective well-being in companies through qualitative and quantitative research methods. In 2020, we were not able to conduct face-to-face interviews for the qualitative portion of our study due to the coronavirus pandemic. We did conducted a series of lengthly interviews online to understand sharing of emotions. To understand the effect that the pandemic has had on subjective well-being, we also undertook a quantitative survey of employees who teleworked under the state-of-emergency. Findings were presented at an academic conference.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
The research is only sightly delayed. We have been able to start interviews in Japan as planned, but not in France due to travel restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic. However, one of the members of our research team is French and will be returning to France in the next several months. We will now be able to conduct interviews in France as planned. The coronavirus pandemic and its affects on the work environment was not predictable at the start of the project. It is affecting employee subjective well-being. We have incorporated this factor into our research.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
As we have planned, we will continue interviews in Japan and start interviews in France. Based on the findings of the this qualitative portion of our research, we will develop hypotheses and a questionnaire survey for the quantitative portion of our study to be conducted in Japan and France. Data will be statistically analyzed. We will present our findings in international conferences.
|
Causes of Carryover |
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we were not able to travel to other areas of Japan and France to conduct are surveys. One of our research team member, who is French, will be able to travel back to France in the next several months. We will be able to conduct the research the complete the project on schedule.
