本研究はアジア太平洋の島嶼地域・国における小規模のクリーンエネルギー技術の移転・普及の可能性を探ることである。本研究は研究対象とする技術を商業ベースで移転・普及させることは可能か経済的価値を評価すると共に、これらの技術の移転・普及が人々の生活の質の向上にどのような価値を生み出すのか社会的・環境的価値の評価をめざす。
2022年度はインドネシアに焦点を当てて技術の社会的・環境的価値の評価を行なった。本評価の一部は上智大学地球環境学研究科紀要「地球環境学」において「Overview of the Localization of Renewable Energy Technology in Indonesia: Types, Barriers, and Opportunities of the Implementation」（邦題：インドネシアにおける再生可能エネルギー技術のローカリゼーションの概説：技術導入の種類、障害、可能性に関して）として発表した。また、太陽光発電技術の普及に関して資金的メカニズムの可能性を検討し、タイにおける「NERPS Conference 2023: Building Peace and Sustainability amidst Global Transformations」国際学会でオンラインにて「Analyzing the current status and barriers for the diffusion of distributed rooftop photovoltaics in the Southeast Asia region: Lessons learned from the US, Germany, and Rwanda」というタイトルの論文を発表した。

Reason
2020年度は日本の離島における日本企業の技術導入の調査を行い、上記で示した日本における技術・案件の特徴をデータベースにまとめた。2021年度はこのデータベースをもとに、オーストリアで2021年9月に実施された第20回European Roundtable on Sustainable Consumption and Productionという国際学会で「Exploring direct and indirect investment schemes for installing small and medium size energy systems in remote local communities: Cases of clean energy systems in Japan」というタイトルの論文を発表した。2021年度は作成したデータベースをもとに研究進捗の発表をオーストリアで2021年9月に実施された第20回European Roundtable on Sustainable Consumption and Productionという国際学会で行った。2022年度は上記で示したとおり、NERPS Conference 2023: Building Peace and Sustainability amidst Global Transformationsという国際学会における発表と紀要の投稿を行なった。2023年度はこれらの研究をベースにクリーンエネルギーの導入に向けて、経営、社会、技術の3つの側面から検討し、ビジネスモデルと方策を提示したい。

2023年度6月にオーストラリアで開催される「The 6th International EcoSummit Congress - EcoSummit 2023 - Building a sustainable and desirable future」において「Addressing social benefits through the co-ownership model of small-scale renewable energy technology in rural area of Indonesia」というタイトルの論文を発表することが決まっている。2021年度から進めている調査を通して、人々の生活の質の改善につながると考えられる小規模のクリーンエネルギー技術を経済・社会・環境の3つの面から総合的に評価し、これらの技術導入が2015年に国連で採択された17のSDGs(持続可能な開発目標)の中の教育、健康、貧困など複数の目標とどのような関連があるのか明らかにしたい。また、2022年同様に2023年度も研究進捗と成果を、逐次、海外の学会などで発表していきたい。

オンラインで実施される国際学会に参加したため海外への旅費などが発生しなかった。2023年度は海外における国際学会への参加を予定しており、本学会への参加などに使用する予定である。
