Outline of Final Research Achievements

Childcare workers who care for children younger than three years old (henceforth infant care workers) frequently work with multiple infant care workers. They are required to cooperate and collaborate with each other. It is possible that how they cooperate and collaborate affects infant care workers’ burnout. Regarding “cooperation and collaboration” amongst infant care workers, we analyzed textbooks for a course entitled Infant Care, reviewed relevant literature, interviewed directors of infant care facilities, and observed how infant care workers engaged in infant care. The results indicated that directors who have had experience in infant care emphasized “relational understanding” and “mutual growth” in selecting infant care workers. Infant care practices that pertained to “cooperation and collaboration” such as sharing information, making an eye contact, and assisting collaboratively constituted critical aspects of infant care workers’ practices.

未満児保育者の専門性には、一人ひとりの生命や健康の維持、そして個別性や偏りをも十分に包含し、その個別性を尊重して保育を展開する専門性が強く求められる。このため、保育の理念や目標、方法の共通理解とともに、乳幼児一人ひとりの共通理解のために、常に連携・協働を意識して保育をすすめることが専門性の根本にある。このように、未満児保育者間の「連携・協働」が益々重要になっているものの、この点に焦点を当てた研究は少ない。研究の結果、未満児保育者間の連携・協働について、一定暗黙知を明らかにした。
