Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, we aimed to propose an example of an experiential marine education practice in collaboration with the local community, using the keyword "Umiiku" (marine education), in relation to "food," one of the important elements of life experiences. At an elementary school in Anamizu Town on the Noto Peninsula, where the research director has been active, third graders take part in hometown education tours of a local oyster farm. We edit the children's writing and drawings into cards called "Umiiku cards". This series of activities has been carried out every year and has been established as an example of marine education in practice. In addition, questionnaire surveys were conducted on the children before and after the activities, and the results of the activities were continuously verified.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
