Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this study, we adapted our research plan amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on validity assessments and analyzing influencing factors effecting interview evaluations. As a result, we found that psychological characteristics such as personality traits and facial expressions have an impact on interview evaluations. However, in certain selection formats, the influence of these external factors is too significant. Consequently, a valid relationship between interview evaluations and subsequent outcomes (such as achievement grades) could not be established, suggesting the need for further improvement in interview methodologies.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究の学術的意義は２つある。１つは、模擬面接などの実際的形式で検証されてこなかった面接評価に対し、妥当性を明らかにしたことである。本研究の結果はテスト研究や教育測定論における学術的結果であるとともに、大学における入試設計やそれに基づく大学運営・大学経営といった実務的側面にも影響を与えるだろう。もう１つは面接評価に与える影響要因を明らかにしたことである。特に、科目受講面接や入学試験面接においてネガティブ表情が面接評価に影響を及ぼすという結果は、今後の大学入試における選抜評価方式にも影響を及ぼす可能性があり、社会的インパクトがある。
