Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Fostering scientific literacy, which is one of the qualities and abilities necessary to respond to a rapidly changing society, is an important issue. In this research, first, we clarified the current situation and problems of scientific literacy among university students. Next, from the analysis of the curriculum guidelines and textbooks for home economics and science, we extracted suitable subjects for fostering scientific literacy. In addition, a specific learning program was created from these themes, put into practice for university students, and its effectiveness was clarified. We need to develop more programs in the future.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
今後、数年~数十年先の科学技術の進展を考える際に、科学的リテラシーは育成すべき重要な資質・能力の一つである。本研究により明らかになった科学的リテラシーの育成に有効な題材を用いた学習を教員養成段階で実践することは、科学的リテラシーを身につけた教員を増加させることにつながり、ひいては初等教育における科学的リテラシーの育成の推進につながると考えられる。
