Outline of Final Research Achievements

Sexual assault on campus has emerged as a social issue. Not only do student victims suffer unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases, but they also suffer severe mental stress. The purpose of this research is to build a system where student victims can feel safe to seek support.
We conducted a questionnaire survey of student counseling centers at universities interviewed supporters. Based on this research, we created the "Manual for Supporting Student Victims of Sexual Violence at Universities" and a video titled "Responding to Sexual Violence at Universities: From Victim Support to Prevention." https://nosvva.net/forStaff/#material.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

欧米においては、大学における性暴力被害対策は危機管理の一環として位置づけられ、性暴力被害者支援に関する研究も多く行われている。我が国においても性暴力被害学生の支援体制構築は喫緊の課題であるが、学生や教職員の性暴力に対する認識が乏しいことが課題である。我々は支援者等に対して行った研究を基に、支援者向けの啓発教材や学生・教職員向けの啓発動画を作成した。本研究で作成した支援マニュアルは、医師やカウンセラー、看護師のみならず、一般の教職員にもわかりやすく書かれている。今後の学生支援の一助となることが大きく期待される。
