Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In this extension year, we extend our work from the irregular repetition slotted ALOHA (IR-SA) scheme to the coded slotted ALOHA (C-SA) scheme. We derive two theoretical bounds of C-SA over fading channels: a belief propagation (BP) threshold and a converse bound. The converse bound expresses an impossibility threshold to be approached and the tight bound is guidelines for the practical implementation of C-SA. The numerical results show that the C-SA scheme provides more flexible values of energy efficiency and higher BP thresholds than those of the IR-SA. The converse bound is tight in the sense that the BP threshold of a spatially coupled scheme is close to it.
