Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The work has started by analysing samples available at Akita University. One short field campaign has also been conducted to collect more samples. The analyses so far have included mineral identification, chemical analyses and isotopic analyses. Most analyses have been conducted at Akita University. Additional analyses have also been made at commercial laboratories. The work has been so far conducted in collaboration with one of the post-graduate students for the las year. He is expected to graduate at the end of this year. The data obtained during these analyses will be compiled in a peer-reviewed publication in a specialised journal.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
The limitations to travel imposed over the last year have made it impossible to gather new samples. However, samples collected previously have been used so far. Overall, the work has not been slowed by the current situation.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
In the future, more analyses will have to be performed. If the situation allows, we will travel to the field, mostly in Japan.
|
Causes of Carryover |
The future work includes more analyses of the same type as the ones carried out over the last months. The work will also include travelling, if the situation allows.
