Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The aim of this research is to understand energy expenditure and the metabolic source that power chain neuronal migration during development. At the beginning of this funding period, We generated a mouse line with the knockout of a transcription factor that had been reported to promote OXPHOS metabolic pathway. During the past year, we have analyzed further this mouse line, with the aim to illuminate the temporal sequences and the morphological changes in the course of neuronal chain migration in our mutant mouse. Our evidence so far points to a role of this gene in the process when neurons switch from tangential to radial migration.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
4: Progress in research has been delayed.
Reason
The progress of this study has been delayed, due to COVID related problems and emergent family duties.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
(1) We would finalize the phenotype analysis in our mutant mice. (2) We would perform in vitro whole brain culture combining with pharmacological reagents to understand how varying energy source might affect the mode of chain migration.
|
Causes of Carryover |
The incurring amount will be used for the execution of next year’s plan: including maintaining mouse colonies, purchasing pregnant mice, culture medium, pharmacological reagents and antibodies.
