Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The surgical assist robot is a medical device that enables delicate surgical procedures in a narrow surgical field while hand stabilizer and adjusting the precision of operation by motion scale in an enlarged three-dimensional field of view. Although it is used in a wide range of medical departments, its introduction in the field of plastic surgery has been slow. We focused on skin flap elevation, skin flap suturing in head and neck reconstruction and microsurgery, has recently explored the application of da Vinci (Intuitive Surgical, Inc.) surgical robotic systems. All of the surgical procedures in this study were able to fully utilize the advantages of the robot.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
