Outline of Final Research Achievements |
People with type 2 diabetes going to medical institutions in mountainous areas were provided with remote guidance for lifestyle (diet and exercise) using smart phones for 6 months. In the last 3 years, total number of subjects was 38 persons (26 men and 12 women; 33 persons over the age of 60 and 5 persons under the age of 59; 12 persons in 2020, 15 persons in 2021 and 11 persons in 2022). In all subjects, body weight and BMI were lower after 6 months of intervention than those before intervention, but HbA1c levels and blood pressure did not change significantly. Both step count and exercise frequency significantly increased, and thus, exercise habits improved during the intervention period.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
