Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study developed a three-factor, 27-item self-education scale for nurses consisting of "the ability to learn independently", "the ability to reflect on one’s", "the interest in nursing and a sense of fulfillment in work". The developed self-education scale for nurses (1) includes all five attributes of nurses' self-education as indicated in the conceptual analysis, (2) is based on the independent learning process of nurses as adult learners, and (3) reflects the importance of nurses' experiential learning as demonstrated in previous studies, The study adequately measures the self-education of nurses. In addition, internal consistency was high (α=.945), and the results of the confirmatory factor analysis showed a high path coefficient and a certain degree of fit.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
社会の変化に応じて求められる看護実践は日進月歩している中、看護師が主体的、継続的に学習を行うためには主体的な学ぶ能力だけではなく、看護師の情意的な資質も捉えることができる自己教育性が重要である。これまでに看護師の主体的、継続的な学びに関する研究は数多く報告されてきた。しかしながら、看護師の自己教育性を明確にとらえた報告は見当たらず、本研究により看護師の自己教育性の構成概念を明らかにすることができた。看護師の自己教育性の構成概念を明らかにすることができたことは看護師が成人学習者として経験学習を通して学んでいることが示され、看護師の経験が看護師として成長する上での学びとして重要であると言える。
