Outline of Final Research Achievements

An e-learning system (LMS) has been developed which even instructors unfamiliar with digital technology could use conveniently requiring fewer steps than precursors. In concrete, the user identification function was produced, and then the function of introducing multimedia files followed. After those, the automatic attendance/absence recording function was made. The questionnaire function was created for online questionnaire to be conducted on the web. The test creation function was built with text-file-only interface rather than direct editing on the XML editor. Automatic grading function was also added to the testing function, where one test could be partly marked manually leaving the rest for automatic scoring. This system also includes the communication function for students and instructors.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

DXの時代において、デジタル技術を学習・教育で活用することを目的に、コンピュータやウェブに苦手意識を持つ教員でも活用できるよう、LMSをなるべく操作性のよいもの、わかりやすくて高機能なものに進化させていく必要があるが、そのため、従来のLMSに比べ、テキストベースで操作でき、二の足を踏ませるようなデジタルやウェブのバックグラウンドを見せないシステムを開発した。これを無償で使ってもらうことができれば、データの完全複製、素材の共有というデジタルの特長を生かし、多くの教育現場で、少ない手数で大きな効果を得ることができるようになる。
