Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
As for the research results I have produced so far, I analyzed data from an interview conducted with a Literary Manager at Lyric Theatre Belfast during the spring of 2021. I presented my findings based on this analysis at the 42nd Nineteenth Century Studies Association Annual Virtual Conference at the end of the fiscal year 2021. The aim of this presentation was to share the results of my research and receive feedback from colleagues in the field. Following the conference, I revised the presentation draft with an eye toward publication. In March 2023, I presented this revised version at the Midwest Victorian Studies Association, where I received further feedback and suggestions for improvement.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
The COVID-19 pandemic continued to impact the progress of my project throughout 2022, as it did in the previous year. Specifically, international travel restrictions delayed two crucial research components: 1) conducting archival research at The British Library and The Library of Trinity College Dublin, and 2) analyzing the data I had collected and incorporating it into the manuscript. These setbacks have resulted in a delay in the completion of my research. Additionally, the pandemic has led to unexpected changes in work patterns, including an increased workload due to the consequences of the pandemic. As a result, I have had to adjust my research schedule while maintaining the quality of my work.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Moving forward into FY2023, I plan to continue analyzing the data I have collected since the beginning of my project. In addition, I will conduct further data collection at three institutions in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Upon completion of this data analysis and collection, I will integrate the results with the preliminary findings of my study. These findings will be presented at an international conference, where I will seek to engage with colleagues and gain feedback on my research. In addition to the conference presentation, I plan to submit a manuscript for publication in a peer-reviewed academic journal. Overall, I remain committed to advancing the field of literary and theatrical studies through my research and dissemination efforts.
|
Causes of Carryover |
Due to international travel restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, some key elements of my research project have been delayed. However, in FY2023, I plan to make significant progress in my research. Firstly, I will attend at least one international conference to present the main findings of my study and gain feedback from colleagues in the field. In addition, I will continue the further analysis of the data obtained in the previous year. This will involve analyzing the qualitative data collected from interviews and archival research. These activities will help me to achieve my research objectives and complete my current project.
