| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
本研究は研究代表者の関連研究課題(17K13513)の継続課題であり、日本人英語学習者が母語話者英語 (L1英語) のみならず、様々な母語の話者が話す英語 (非母語英語; L2英語) をどのように知覚しているかについて、特に聞き取りやすさ (intelligibility) と理解しやすさ (comprehensibility) の観点から明らかにすることを目的としている。研究開始時期に発生した新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大に伴い、2年程度の研究の中断を余儀なくされた。その間に関連課題のデータを用いて本研究課題のデザインの再構築を行った結果、当初は母語話者および非母語話者英語の知覚のみを対象に研究を行う予定だったものの研究範囲を拡大し、特にリズムの知覚における発話およびリスニングのトレーニングの効果を検証するデザインに変更した。
2023年度にはトレーニング前後の知覚実験に用いる母語話者および非母語話者の発話データを収録し、それをコーパス (データベース) 化して、Learner Corpus Studies in Asia and the World (LCSAW) 6 にて報告した。本研究課題の再延長が可能であったため、本実験の実施を2024年度とし、2023年度内に事前、事後テストの使用語彙の統制等を行った。また、関連課題のデータを用いて執筆した共著論文が学術誌 Laboratory Phonology: Journal of the Association for Laboratory Phonology に採択された。

Reason
2020年以降の新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大により、研究計画が約2年後ろ倒しになっている。本研究課題を2年間延長することができたため、2024年度に当初の研究目標を達成することを目指す。

2024年度初頭に本実験を行い、研究補助者の協力を得たアノテーションを行って、分析結果を国内外の学会および学術誌論文で報告することを目指す。
