Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In the 2021 Fiscal Year, the following goals were achieved: - Quantitative was collected from 164 participants for a one-year period and focused feedback was collected from 45 participants; - Data was analysed statistically with SPSS; - Qualitative data was thematically categorised. In addition, partial data was presented at the 2021 JALT International Conference and 36th SIETAR Japan Conference. A book chapter titled "Incorporating Intercultural Competence into EFL Classrooms: the case of Japanese higher education institutions" was accepted for publication as part of an edited volume published by Springer.

Reason
The project is on track to be completed within 3 years. All data has been collected and analysed, and is ready to be integrated into publishable articles.

Causes of Carryover |
In 2021, international travelling was not possible due to coronavirus restrictions, but an in-person conference for July 2022 is currently planned.
