Due to the impact of COVID19 pandemic, research has been suspended for some time. Nevertheless, the researcher has presented a preliminary paper on navigational rights and freedoms in Southeast Asia at the International Studies Association Annual Conference (virtually because of COVID19 pandemic) last April 8th.

Reason
Due to the impact of COVID19 pandemic, research has been suspended for some time. Travel to Southeast Asia remains impossible. The hiring of RA was delayed.

Over the next 6-12 months, the following will be completed: - South China Sea timeline, 2016-2020 - Asia Maritime Index website will be launched - On-site data-gathering will resume

Causes of Carryover |
Research will accelerate next fiscal year. Hence, more research activities will be conducted, including purchases of equipment, hiring RA, etc.
