| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
I have published one article and one book chapter from the project to date. I have also completed a book proposal and am in the process of completing the first draft. This proposal was submitted to Cornell University Press. It recieved positive reviews and request for the full manuscript. I also have invited talks in Berlin and Glasgow presenting parts of my research. I have also planned research trips to the UK and plan a further trip to the Middle East.

2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
I am happy with the progress. After a start that was slightly delayed due to Covid, I am making good progress on the central topics of interest.

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I plan a further article on oil price benchmarks. I intend to make a trip to the Middle East. I also intend to conduct further interviews in Singapore either online or through a trip.

| Causes of Carryover |
I have deferred expenditure on data as I may be able to access the information for free on a trip to the UK this summer. I plan to reallocate the funds to a trip to the Middle East accordingly.
