Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
(In the 2021, the research project was put on hold due to personal circumstances, therefore research project has been extended by one year). After extensive literature review, it was concluded that setting of the research focus on Sino-Russian cooperation does not offer a feasible analytical framework. Also, the most recent developments in Sino-Russian bilateral relations have extended further support to this observation. Therefore, the focus of the analysis has been changed to the possible areas of confrontation rather than cooperation in this bilateral realtions. That is a change in terms of the contents of analysis, but also progress in the research desing as it is expected to better expose the nature of this bilateral relation.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
This research aims at evaluating the long-term durability of China-Russia relations. The analysis was originally planned to focus on bilateral cooperation of the two countries, with significant effort allocated to explain what domestic and foreign policy objectives for both China and Russia have driven their cooperation in different areas. However, after extensive literature review, it has been concluded that to achieve the broad goal of the research project, the focus of the analysis is to be changed to understanding how China-Russia strategic partnership behaves under settings, where the two sides may have conflicting interests. Analysis explores specific selected cases.
