Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In FY 2020, I have completed the literature review and data collection phases according to my research plan. Considering the impact COVID-19 has on media and society, I also included some aspects related to the pandemic in my research questions. I made presentations about my research at 4 academic conferences, all were online due to COVID-19, including ITS Europe 2020 (Jun 2020), the 42nd JSICR conference (Jul 2020), the 1st Japanese Politics Online Seminar Series (Oct 2020), and the 5th TU-CAPS International conference (Dec 2020). I also submitted 2 papers to academic journals, both are still under review. In Feb 2021, I have carried out an online questionnaire survey and successfully collected more than 1400 samples that are required for my analyses.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
I have achieved most of my research objectives for 2020 according to my initial research plan.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
In FY 2021, I will complete the analyses of the survey data that I collected in 2020. I also plan to present my results at academic conferences. I have already submitted abstracts to 2 academic conferences (the 44th JSICR conference and ITS Europe 2021) that both are scheduled in June 2021 and will be held online. I will submit another abstract to another Japanese Politics Online Seminar Series conference that is scheduled for October 2021. I will also submit my findings to at least 2 academic journals for publication consideration. I am now working on the first paper and aiming to submit it by June 2021, and after that, I will begin to work on my second paper.
