Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
It was planning to explore the success factors of inclusive and dynamic academic culture by visiting model cases. However, under the pandemic situation, it was difficult to visit universities as modeled cases abroad and have comments from international colleagues for developing interview questions. Therefore, the plan was revised to prepare a draft of the survey for in-depth interview questions in consideration of the situation where the pandemic continues.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
The international workshop will be organized with colleagues who are conducting relevant research in diverse countries. The insights and uniqueness about the Japanese context could be founded through the depth discussion with other country cases. Moreover, a survey will be conducted in the second year of this project for female academics in Japanese universities to investigate the main challenges in their academic society and how they could be overcome. In particular, the research project is planning to be done according to the timetable in the initial proposal and a survey is additionally conducted in the second year.
|
Causes of Carryover |
Since the unexpected COVID 19 situations, the fieldwork for visiting universities abroad has been concealed in the 2020 academic year. Also, it was impossible to invite international researchers to discuss and talk about their cases. Therefore, the fieldwork to visit the universities and international colleagues is expected to be done in the second year of the research project if the pandemic situation is getting better and interregional migrations are available.
