Outline of Annual Research Achievements

This project aimed to explore the possibilities for increasing the dynamics of Japanese academic society by integrating a new generation who have diverse backgrounds. As the last yeat of this project, the expansion and dissemination of the finidngs about junior academics with diverse backgrounds was achieved during this fiscal year. The main findings about the challenges of the diveerse academics in Japanese universities, policy limitations, and implications for them were shared with the various forms as book chapters, jounal articles and presentations. Also, an international seminar and workshop with junior academics in East Asian regions were organized to consider and expand the discussion boundary to explore the dynamics through junior academics with diverse backgrounds (international and female). Moreover, it is possible to compare with the Korean case about international academics based on this project, although it could not cover the returnees.
