Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purpose of this research was to develop "data-based decision making" system for "School-Wide Positive Behavior Support (SWPBS)," an evidence-based approach for addressing student behavioral issues. Our specific objectives included developing an application to analyze student problem behavior data and assessing its usability. We also made revisions to the Japanese version of the Tiered Fidelity Inventory, a tool used to measure the fidelity of SWPBS implementation. Additionally, we translated the Decision Observation, Recording, and Analysis-II (DORA-II; Algozzine et al., 2015), an evaluation tool designed to assess the fidelity of "data-based decision making."

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

不登校やいじめ、問題行動等、生徒指導上の問題の増加に歯止めがかからない中、本研究ではこうした問題に対する有効なアプローチとして期待される学校規模ポジティブ行動支援(SWPBS)に関する研究を行った。日本の学校現場へのSWPBSの実装を推進するためには、学校現場において「データに基づく意思決定」を行うためのデータシステムやツールが不可欠である。本研究では、この「データに基づく意思決定」を行うために必要なアプリ・ツールの開発を行うことができた。
