Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The following two major results were obtained in this research project. First, one of the factors when parental expectations became a problem was not so much the overall good or bad parent-child relationship, but rather the child's inability to feel approved and supported by his or her parents. Second, while negative behavior in response to parental expectations tends to be regrettable and negatively perceived by the children themselves, the sense that they are making proactive career decisions was shown to reduce negative perceptions. From the above, when dealing with issues surrounding parental expectations from the child's perspective, it is important to cultivate a sense of acceptance of the lack of parental approval and a sense of proactive career decision-making.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
