Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
The research so far is proceeding as planned, with published/accepted papers on Points I, III, and IV of my research proposal. In FY2021, I made advances regarding point III, "Supersymmetry in nanowires induced by spatially-modulated fields", which led to the discovery of partially broken SUSY in a condensed matter system, with 2 papers on the topic. Also, I made advances on point I, "Nontrivial Andreev bound states in nanowires (superconducting HH model)", regarding Andreev/Majorana bound states (1 paper) and will soon submit a review paper on the same topic. I participated in a few conferences in Japan and abroad. Unfortunately, I could not attend some conferences and could not visit researchers abroad due to travel restrictions.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
In the last year, I plan to submit 3 papers: 1) A paper on the effect of quasi-periodic disorder in Thouless pumps, describing in more detail the theoretical calculations of our previous Nature Physics paper. 2) A paper on Majorana bound states and topologically-nontrivial Andreev bound states in nanowires, building on our previous work. 3) A review paper on Majorana and Andreev bound states in nanowires in the Journal of Applied Physics. Also, I will work on expanding the study on supersymmetry in topological superconductors concerning other physical systems (e.g., cold atoms) and considering possible applications in the field of topological quantum computation. Moreover, I plan to participate in international conferences in Japan and abroad and to travel to expand my research network.
|
Causes of Carryover |
I plan to use the remaining amount for travel expenses to participate to conferences in Japan and abroad, and visit foreign research institutions in order to expand my research network.
