Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This work focuses on topological Josephson junctions made of a topological insulator with superconducting electrodes. Such a device is believed to host Majorana quantum states, and manipulating these states realizes fault-tolerant quantum computing. Here we realized a Josephson junction consisting of a topological insulator and superconducting electrodes and developed a method for characterizing Majorana quantum states by means of planar tunneling spectroscopy.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
