Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The high-voltage experiment system (safety box) is established at the new laboratory to test the devices at higher voltage with safety precautions. That is equipped with high voltage power supply and discharging system. Further, the intelligent balancing is performed to different power devices to achieve better performance in terms of switching as well as an overall performance of power device. The different types of technique for paralleling is used. One is as a hybrid switch that is paralleling of GaN and SiC to enhance the overall switch concept. That provides the better reverse conduction as well as avalanche capability. Another paralleling concept was performed for the two-parallel connected SiC switch with different threshold voltage. And, the active balancing during switching transient as well as steady state is achieved. The threshold voltage measurement is also performed to characterize the device parameters. One international conference paper on hybrid-switch is submitted to IEEE-ISPSD conference and accepted for the presentation and publishing on IEEE. Another conference paper is submitted for the review considering the parallel operation of SiC swithces.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
The research is mainly planned to work with a single device and now it is performed considering two different approaches. One is hybrid parallel switch and another is paralleled single type switch. So, there are different devices and approach has been adopted to achieve intelligent balancing and operation of the devices that is vital to improve the converter performance.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
The future plan is to do it with more number of devices in parallel as well as use of hybrid switch in some application such as dc-dc converter basic circuit. In addition. the plan is to develop simulation models to investigate more thoroughly the effect of device parameters corresponds to the system unbalancing. Also, the journal and conference dissemination is planned considering the further experimental results. For the future 2-3 years plan the AI technique is planned to achieve intelligent balancing non-direct local communication.

Causes of Carryover |
The plan was to buy some equipment's like oscilloscope and probes that will be bought this fiscal year. To manage the money for those equipment.
