Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
We have studied the Interdependency between ISP’s pricing for cache and bandwidth: Because CPs can choose to cache contents and/or use premium peering, their utilities depend on the ISP’s prices of cache and bandwidth. Therefore, How CPs choose the provided services by ISPs under different cache and bandwidth prices, and to understand the impact of the prices on CPs’ utilities is important. And we have some research results on premium peering between multiple ISPs and CPs.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
4: Progress in research has been delayed.
Reason
In the proccess of our proposed reseearch, we found that the Interdependency between ISP’s pricing for cache and bandwidth is much more tricky, and we have some new ideas to deal with it, which is out of the initial research plan. In order to get the new research result, we need more time. Furthermore, the research process has also been affected by COVID-19, and the research fee for travelling is not used up for research presentation.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
In this year, we will design and implement a testbed and to evaluate the cache and premium peering mechanisms on the testbed. Some research results will be summarized to publish on international journals and international conferences.
|
Causes of Carryover |
We have developed the test bed for validation of our research outcome. But we need more routers and PCs to run the test bed program, and we could not have business trips for research publication during COVID-19 period. Therefore, much research fee is unused. The plan is as follows: (a) To buy some PC related parts to speed up the test bed; (b) To attend serveral domestic and international conferences to distribute our reasearch results.
